Our History & Objectives

West Hampshire School of Art is a non-profit social enterprise that offers fine art courses & workshops for all ages across the west Hampshire area. Our profits drive community art programmes and funded children’s places for those from low-income families.

Based at Broughton Down Farm between Salisbury and Stockbridge, Hampshire, WHSoA fills a gap in holistic art education in the area, particularly important at a time when art & design is being marginalised from the national curriculum, encouraging an increased sense of well-being for students of all ages.

West Hampshire School of Art C.I.C. (company number 11799504) was set up in January 2019 by Director and Lead Tutor, Daisy Rogers, who is a professional fine artist based in nearby Over Wallop. WHSoA is Community Interest Company (C.I.C.), with primary social objectives whose profit surpluses are principally reinvested into the community.

We have chosen to be a C.I.C. so that WHSoA can play a valuable role in helping to create a stronger, healthier and more sustainable local community.

WHSoA is applying to the OFSTED voluntary childcare register, which will enable parents to pay via the tax-free childcare voucher scheme.

Our Committee

We are very lucky to have a wonderful committee of dedicated volunteers, each with their own areas of professional specialism, adding a wealth of knowledge, experience and ideas to WHSoA strategy and fundraising!
