Fine Art Foundation Course

Grow as an artist
from a solid foundation.

Our new Fine Art Foundation course offers practical fine art training in small groups, taught by experienced tutors who are all professional artists. Starting September 2019 for part time students; September 2020 for full time.

Please note that out Tuesday cohort is full for the autumn term, however we have opened up a second group for the autumn:

History of Art: Tuesdays 1300-1430

Drawing I: Wednesdays 0945-1200

The Wednesday drawing group will revert to Tuesdays from January for the next module.

Credits available for relevant previous WHSoA courses taken.

Full time. Part time.

FULL TIME: ONE YEAR

DIPLOMA (starting Sept 2020)

3-4 days per week

Autumn: Drawing I & II; History of Art; Life drawing; Personal Project I

Spring: Painting I & II; Life drawing; Personal Projects II & III

Summer: Printmaking; Sculpture; Life Drawing; Personal Projects IV & V

Min. of 2 hours per week spent on sketchbooks and personal project development

Essays: 1. Critical thinking; 2. Reflective

GRADUATE SHOW

£4,000

Requirements:

A-Level Art or equivalent

Fluent English

OPTIONAL ADDITIONAL MODULES:

Every student, whether full or part time, certificate or diploma has:

Access to the studio on Wednesdays for personal project work

Unlimited life drawing on Monday mornings or Wednesday evenings throughout their course

25% off WHSoA short courses outside of the Foundation course programme

One-to-one tutorials every half-term

Termly gallery trips and talks from industry professionals

Career and portfolio development, where applicable.

Subject to funding, we are offering two 100% bursaries per year, for students aged 19-24 years old, where they would otherwise not be able to attend. Contact us to discuss further and find out about the application process.
